FAQ's
Below are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions, but if you can’t find the information you need, get in touch. Our friendly team is happy to help.
Regular cleaning reduces the risk of bacteria
growing inside your IBCs and drums, which can
cause microbiological contamination. This is
particularly dangerous where IBC contents are
for human consumption.
Regular cleaning also extends the lifespan of
your containers, which means you won’t need to
replace them as often. This is better for the
environment and your bottom line.
With regular cleaning, inspecting and testing, you can expand the lifespan of your IBCs and drums, but they will not last forever. If you notice any leaks, cracks or damage to your containers, you should replace them. We can recycle your old IBCs and drums when they reach end of life.
If your containers are no longer required but are still in good condition, they can be reconditioned for resale. If they are no longer fit for purpose, they can be shredded and granulated, ready to be recycled into other plastic products.
We provide both of these services.
Damaged IBCs and drums should not be put back into circulation. If they can not be repaired, they can be recycled.
As an environmentally conscious business, we try to minimise the distances our vehicles travel without a full load.
If your business is local (Yorkshire), we’ll collect a minimum of 32 IBCs or drums. Nationwide, we’ll collect a minimum of 52. If you have a smaller load, let us know – we may be able to coordinate it with other pick-ups or drop-offs in your area.
Alternatively, you can arrange your own transportation of IBCs and drums to our facility.
If an IBC fails a pressure test, we retest after 10 minutes. If the IBC fails a second time, we mark as failed and will advise you of our findings.
UN-approved IBCs must be periodically tested and certified at five years. If your IBC has less than four months left before the inspection is due, we remove the UN label to reduce the risk
of it going back into circulation before the inspection.
No. We conduct general external and internal inspections before cleaning your IBCs and drums, but we do not offer UN-approved periodic testing.
